As pet owners, we treat our animals like we treat our children.
Keeping them healthy and happy is one of our top priorities. However, finding the right hospital with the right doctors is not always an easy task. At Hickory, we realize the frustration many pet owners feel when choosing a veterinary hospital. So we decided to make it easy for our clients. We took a primary care veterinary hospital with dedicated general practitioners and added experienced specialists in surgery, oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, radiology, ophthalmology, rehabilitation and acupuncture. Then we went one step further and made the medical facility open 24 hours a day 365 days a year to cover emergency and critical care, giving clients the peace of mind that advanced veterinary medicine is available whenever their pet may need it.
Whether you are a current, future or referral client, when you contact Pennsylvania Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Associates at Hickory you will speak with one of our friendly receptionists. They will be able to make your primary care appointment for you. If you are being referred by your veterinarian to our facility, then our referral coordinator will ask you a few questions and advise you to either come in as an emergency or schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience with one of our specialists. When you arrive you will be greeted by Hickory’s knowledgeable reception staff who will notify the doctor of your arrival. One of our experienced veterinary technicians will take you into an exam room and get some basic information. You will meet with one of our doctors who will examine your pet, evaluate all symptoms and advise you of the options available. If you are a referral client, a report of your visit will be promptly prepared and forwarded to your own veterinarian. This report will outline your pet’s condition, laboratory tests performed, treatments performed, medications prescribed and follow up recommendations.
At Hickory, we not only treat your pet, but we treat the owner. It is important to us that we take the time necessary to educate you on what is going on, what options are available, and why it must be done, so you can go home with the peace of mind and assurance that your pet is being well taken care of.
We welcome you to take a look through our website and see what Hickory Veterinary Hospital has to offer you and your pet.
