There is no need to wait to seek medical attention in the event of an emergency; you can now have your pet examined and cared for in a state of the art facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including all holidays.

Hickory Veterinary Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day by a team of highly trained, compassionate, and dedicated doctors and certified technicians ready to care for your pet. We have an in-house laboratory that puts all essential tests at our disposal. This includes Serum Chemistries, CBC's, Blood Gas Analysis, Blood Typing, and Urinalysis. We also perform radiographs (x-rays), echocardiography, EKG's, ultrasound, and endoscopy in the hospital and have access to CT and MRI scans. These tests enable us to rapidly diagnose and treat your pet's problem. We closely monitor your pet's condition with EKG's, blood pressures, and pulse oximetry and facilitate your pet's treatment with fluid infusion pumps, oxygen cages, ventilators, and incubators.

Our staff is ready at a moment’s notice to perform any surgical or medical procedure. Should your pet require a blood or plasma transfusion, we have donors on the premises as well as a network of canine and feline volunteers in the immediate area.

Hickory Veterinary Hospital has been an AAHA certified hospital since 1970. Our staff of doctors consists of a board-certified specialist in surgery and oncology, and several general practitioners. Additionally, a host of consultants in cardiology, neurology, and radiology are at our disposal.

Our staff is always available to answer any questions or concerns that may arise. They will discuss all diagnostic and treatment options with you and provide an estimate of the associated costs. A phone report will be made to your veterinarian within 24 hours of admitting your pet and a full written report will be faxed and/or mailed once care has been completed. You will be updated about your pet's condition daily and encouraged to visit should your pet need to stay with us for any length of time.
