The following is a list of some of the shampoos available at Hickory Veterinary Hospital. Additional formulations are available. 

SEBORRHEA SICCA

(dry skin with flakes)

ALLERGROOM: This is a hypo-allergenic soap-free shampoo for cats and dogs. It is available in an 8-oz. bottle from Virbac/Allerderm.

HISTACALM: This product contains oatmeal and diphenhydramine (the active ingredient in Benadryl). It is useful for cats and dogs. It is available from Virbac/Allerderm.

CORTISOOTHE: This anti-puritic, anti-inflammatory oatmeal shampoo contains 1% Hydrocortisone. It provides temporary relief of inflammation and pruritus associated with corticosteroid - responsive canine dermatoses. It is available in a 6-oz. bottle from Virbac/Allerderm

ECTOSOOTHE 3X: This contains ingredients to kill fleas, ticks, and lice, but also contains oatmeal to help soothe irritated skin.

HUMILAC SPRAY: This is a leave in treatment that aids in controlling keratinzation. It contains alph-hydroxy acid. It is available from Virbac/Allerderm.

SKUNK-OFF: This product is non-toxic and non-irritating. This can be used on cats, dogs and you.

LO-SHED SHAMPOO: This shampoo helps to cut down on excessive shedding and dander. This can be beneficial to households with allergies. It is also gentle enough to be used frequently. It is available from Immunovet in 16-oz. bottles.

LO-SHED SPRAY: This spray is used in conjunction with the shampoo. Besides helping with the control of excess shedding and dander it also promotes a healthy coat.

PYOBEN: This is an anti-microbial keratolytic shampoo specifically for topical treatment of superficial cutaneous infection. This shampoo can be used on cats and dogs. It is available from Virbac/Allerderm

CHLORHEXIDERM SHAMPOO: This is an antiseptic, anti-microbial shampoo for cats and dogs. This is for antiseptic, anti-microbial, cleansing, and deodorizing. It is available from DVM Pharmaceuticals.

RESISOOTHE: This is a leave on conditioner that helps relieve dry, itchy, irritated skin. It is available from Virbac/Allerderm.

RESIHIST: This is a leave in conditioner. It contains diphenhydramine (the active ingredient in Benadryl). It is anti-histaminic, and anti-pruritic. It is available from Virbac/Allerderm.

RESICHLOR: This is a chlorhexidine gluconate conditioner. It is an anti-fungal, antiseptic product. It is available from Virbac/Allerderm.

DERMAZOLE: This is an anti-fungal shampoo for dogs and cats. It contains 2% miconazole. It is effective against both dermatophytosis and dermatomycosis infections. It fights Seborrhea, ringworm and Pityrosporum Pachydermatis. It is available in 6-oz. bottles from Allerderm.
