Dr. Jaclyn O’Pella grew up in the Philadelphia area and attended Haverford College as an undergraduate. After graduation, Dr. O'Pella worked at a pharmaceutical company for several years while earning her MPH from Thomas Jefferson University. While studying public health, she worked on a research project studying Lyme disease in Chester County. This led to a full time career working with animals, and she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Dr. O'Pella also has an interest in wildlife medicine and volunteers at Tri-State Bird Rescue. Additionally, she assists with the wildlife medicine class at the University of Pennsylvania's veterinary school.
Dr. O’Pella’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is that she gets to form relationships with clients and their pets from puppy or kittenhood through their adult years. She sees dogs, cats and some exotic species. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants and traveling. She spends a lot of her free time with her spicy calico cat, Lily and her pit bull mix, Cindy Lou Who.
