While studying public health, she worked on a research project on Lyme disease at Penn Vet’s New Bolton Center. This led to a full time career working with animals, and she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014.

Dr. O’Pella’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is that she gets to form relationships with clients and their pets from puppy or kittenhood through their adult years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants and volunteering at a local wildlife clinic. She has a dog named Harley and a tortoise named Ralph.
